What to Watch for Week of February 23

Business District

Crews are now working eight hours a day, five days a week.  All business access remains open.

Ranger Road Closure

In conjunction with the City of Sedona, required paving work on Ranger Road will take place Tuesday, February 24.  Ranger Road will be shutdown for a period of approximately 4 hours starting at 9 a.m.

Paving Preparation - Back O' Beyond and Chapel

In preparation for paving, crews will be placing gravel on the southbound side of the road between Back O' Beyond and Chapel. Crews are prepping the area all week with plans of paving the following week.

Utility Work

Throughout the week, utility crews will be working on cable and wire repairs near Tlaquepaque.  Both Qwest and APS will be pulling old damaged wiring and replacing with new.  APS continues to wire around the bridges, including pole removal.  Traffic impacts and noise will be minimal.

Concrete Pouring

Crews will be placing foam crete (lightweight concrete) on top of the old concrete boxes at Morgan Wash and the wash between Hillside and Exposures Gallery.  It is a way to get strong lightweight material on top of old concrete that will support the new road and minimize construction.  Otherwise the contractor would have to tear out and rebuild the old boxes causing major traffic impacts.

Construction Communications

Please note: Changes to construction plans can happen frequently due to weather, equipment availability and personnel issues. We try to anticipate construction activities a week in advance but changes may occur. Intermittent lane closures, with short delays, may not always be known in advance.
