Crews are closing Cortez Road as necessary for work activities and leaving the intersection open when work is not occurring there. Concrete Work Slowed by Weather, Picks up Again this Week Concrete crews are working in the Village of Oak Creek on curb and gutter, medians, and catch basins. Catch basins are the openings in the side of the road that collect storm water and convey it to the storm drain system located underground. When the weather is wet and cold, concrete work cannot occur because the concrete will not set properly. The contractor has mobilized abundant concrete crews to continue momentum and progress in the Village of Oak Creek, and concrete work will continue as much as possible. Construction activities will not take place on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. A small crew will be working December 26 through December 29. Crews will take the New Year’s weekend and holiday off as well and will begin working again January 2. Using Turn Signals at Intersections Roundabouts are like any other intersection, a driver should signal intent before arriving in the intersection. The MVD manual states to signal 100 feet before your movement. Please note: Changes to construction plans can happen frequently due to weather, equipment availability and personnel issues. We try to anticipate construction activities a week in advance but changes may occur. Intermittent lane closures, with short delays, may not always be known in advance.
